‘Breaking Bad’ and Disney stars will take part in Mission Viejo’s inaugural Oso Fit 5K Fun Run

RJ Mitte, an actor and model best known for his role on “Breaking Bad,” and Kate Tomlinson of Disney’s “Stuck in the Middle” will take part in Mission Viejo’s inaugural Oso Fit 5K Fun Run on March 3.

Mitte and Tomlinson will be joined by actors Aaron Schwartz, Niko Pepaj and Lacianne Carriere for the event that includes quarter- and half-mile runs specifically for kids.

The City is working with the Children’s Cerebral Palsy Movement to host the kids’ runs that coincides with the annual Community Health Fair and 5K Fun Run at the Norman P. Murray Center. RJ Mitte is a celebrity ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy. Like his character on the AMC series, he has cerebral palsy and will help guide kids with disabilities on the quarter- and half-mile runs.

Along with guest starring on the Disney Channel’s “Stuck in the Middle” series, Kate Tomlinson has appeared on the “Andi Mack” show.  Aaron Schwartz is best known for his roles in the 1995 comedy film “Heavyweights” and “The Mighty Ducks.”  Niko Pepaj appeared in the “Daytime Divas” and “How to Get Away with Murder” television shows.  Lacianne Carriere’s career includes TV commercials as well as roles on Nickelodeon's “Victorious,” and “It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.”

The event kicks off at 7:30 a.m. with the Community Health Fair featuring a wealth of information for living a healthy lifestyle. The 5K run follows at 8:30 a.m., with the quarter- and half-mile runs beginning at 9:30 a.m. All children participating in the kids’ walk/run will take home a special medal – presented to them by Mitte.

The course will be accessible for kids of all abilities – even those with braces, crutches, walkers and wheelchairs.

All pre-registration fees will benefit Mission Viejo nonprofits. Registration fees increase beginning at 4 p.m. on February 24, so don’t delay in registering today at
