Register to Vote  

Are you registered to vote?  You must re-register if you:

  • Move
  • Change your name
  • Change your party affiliation 

Eligible residents 18 years and older can register to vote  online.

Voter registration forms are also available at City Hall, community centers, post offices and public libraries. To request a registration form by mail, please call the Orange County Registrar of Voters office at (714) 567-7600 or the City Clerk's office at (949) 470-3052. Completed registration forms can be dropped off in any U.S. mailbox; or hand-delivered to Mission Viejo City Hall or the Registrar's office, located at 1300 S. Grand Ave. in Santa Ana. 

You must also be registered at least 15 days prior to the election in which you intend to vote. If you do not live in Orange County, please contact the Registrar of Voters in the county in which you reside.

Vote-By-Mail

Vote-by-mail allows a voter to submit their ballot for a given election by mail. You must first request that a mail ballot be sent to you. Vote-by-mail ballots must be received by the Registrar of Voters no later than 8:00 pm on Election Day. Late ballots cannot be counted.

Become A Poll Worker

The Orange County Registrar of Voters is always seeking volunteers to staff each polling place on Election Day. For information on how to become a poll worker. Poll workers receive a stipend for their time.

Student Poll Worker Program

To expose young people to democratic decision-making at an earlier age, the California State Legislature amended the elections code in 1996 to allow high school students to serve as poll workers on Election Day. This special program gives students hands-on experience with the voting process. Join other high school students throughout Orange County and the state as they discover firsthand how the American electoral process.
